Getting around the city

Getting around the city

Public transportation (by bus/trolley/tram):

Regular fare is 3 LEI/person/90 minutes trip, including transfers. Most of the vehicles have implemented validators that allow debit cards as payment. There is also the 24pay free app you can use on your phone, where you can buy 90 minutes tickets or 24/72 hours travel passes, valid for all surface transport routes from the moment of payment.

Please allow plenty of time for this option, as there is not so strict schedule. We recommend using the INFO TB app for efficient navigation.

By subway:

This is the fastest way to get around. For Grade Exams the stop is “Piata Iancului” station. The feis venue is further from subway – the closes stop is “Dristor” station. Trip cards available for purchase at each subway station: click to see prices. We would recommend the 10 trips card, especially for groups. The validators at every station also allow debit cards as payment. More information on Metrorex website.

By taxi or Bolt/Uber/FreeNow:

Bolt/Uber are very accessible and a preferred option by most of us.

Lots of taxis available, but we recommend you order yours, not take it from the streets. You can look for Star Taxi app or Clever Taxi app, they are compatible with any device and there is plenty of WiFi anywhere, so you can order one.

Car rental:

There are multiple options, including car rental booths right in the airport.
